Small Space Challenges-Solutions
Many of us have challenges with our apartment space. It is either too small to fit our furniture, not enough storage unit, no workspace, etc. Most of us do not know how to get creative with it. We feel squeezed in our space which makes us claustrophobic and uncomfortable. Small spaces can be cozy, comfy, polished and convenient. You can achieve the aesthetic you desire as well as functionality in a small space, if your space is adequately planned.
However, one of the first thing you need to consider is; what your needs are? what you would like to see in your space? What are you using the space for?
If it is a children room; how many kids? Are they different genders? Luckily, neutral colors and work with kiddies’ room. Blue can be used for girl once you design with the right shade.
If it is your kitchen; opt for open space shelf, neutral colors and vertical tile.
If it is your living room; natural lighting, floating shelves, etc.
Whatever the space is for, it should be clutter-free and well organized.
Declutter-
Avoid having too many things out in the open, it can make your space untidy and blight. Your shelf should be well built and demarcated for various storage items.

Your choice of color is another important factor. Use neutral colors such as white, cream to create an illusion of space, you can also combine it with a pop of color. Add potted plants for freshness and tranquility.

For your living room, get a sofa with space underneath which would create a sense of openness and cleanliness. Your tv shelf can be floated as well.
Illuminate your space-
Use mirrors on your space to bounce light in your space and transparent materials; glass for your tables, etc. Go vertical, use bold pictures frames, vertical wall tiles, Horizontal windows and window frames, wood paneling, etc.
Create Mobility-
Arrange your furniture in a way that their would-be enough space to move around. You can get a L-shaped sofa to maximize seating. Avoid using a sharp-edged center table, opt for an ottoman to reduce chances of injury. Ottoman in bedrooms can double up as storage space.
Make use of secluded area-
Transform isolated spaces for reading area, study area, or wall gallery for art- place your art above eye level.
Floated shelf and Cabinets–
Instead of a floor shelf, create/change your shelf to a hanging shelf, for books, accessories. Get vanity cabinets for your toilets to create more storage space, etc.
